About us

Our Vision: Everyone deserves quality, affordable food wherever they are.

H&C Sandwiches makes ready-to-eat packaged food to feed our neighbors on the go.  Established in 1987 by Don & Susan Ho-Ching, H&C Sandwiches' products were first sold in convenience stores.  In the late 2000’s, their youngest daughter Wai-Kay took over as director of the company, and the Kay’s Kitchen brand was born.  You'll find our products at your local convenience stores, gas stations, vending machines, micromarkets and airplanes.

“It’s like the United Nations here!” exclaimed one of our new hires, Mark R., after meeting his co-workers.

We have an ethnically diverse staff that is 75% female.  What brings us together is we all share a love for making quality products.  Our customers range from independent BC stores to billion-dollar multinational companies.

Owner & CEO

Wai-Kay Ho-Ching is a sandwich maker and 2nd generation owner of our family business.  She has worked here for over 30 years.  Some of her earliest memories are helping her parents roll pennies and working on a conveyor line as a team.

She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a BSc in Computer Science.  In her early career, she worked on software for many industries including grocery and accounting, but in those jobs, she always missed working with her hands.

“I prefer lifting cases of celery over lifting weights at the gym”, she would say, “I would rather spend my time making sandwiches that everyone can enjoy”.

As our plant manager since 2008, our business has tripled in size.  During that time, she has also grown her family with a husband and two future sandwich makers.  In late 2020, she started mentoring two female entrepreneurs with food businesses.

"I want to help other women build their businesses up", she says,"We can collaborate to offer good food everywhere."
